Review Time!

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation

Hey loves, first I would like to apologize for not doing many posts this month. I have been super busy with school and especially now since finals start in two weeks. I will be having two posts up today. After these two posts, I will be focusing some of the "life" portion of my blog because it will be easier for me to do posts on that since I will be studying a lot and taking exams. It will also be a good way for you guys to get to know me a little better as well. So yeah, on to the review.

For this spring I have been loving NYX face products. I honestly never thought that I would try any face products from them, but I decided to venture out and find something new. Ok, I have worn this foundation everyday since last Monday and I LOVE IT so much! OMG! This stuff is amazing. The only bad thing about it is that it does not have a very good shade range. I am normally a caramel color in all of my foundations and I got this foundation in the shade California Tan 08 (which is their deepest shade), so if you're skin tone is a little deeper than that I would not suggest getting this foundation. At first, I did not think it was going to work at all but I decided give it a try and take it back if I don't like it. This is one of the best matching foundations with my skin. It barely oxidizes at all. Before, my go to drugstore foundation was the Revlon ColorStay, but it just began oxidizing so much and I just could not tolerate it anymore. This foundation retails for $15.00. It is carried at some Ulta stores and it is not sold online at the Ulta website. If you want to order it online, you have to click here and order it from NYX. Now for the pros and cons.

Pros
Lightweight
Has a pump for less mess
A little goes a long way
Blends well
Goes on Easy
Good Quality for the Money
Good for all skin types

Cons
Not a good shade range for very deep and very fair skin tones

I really hope that you all go and buy this foundation because it would make me extremely happy, just because lol. Now I have a question for all of you. I am debating on making an instagram and tumblr. I've had some people tell me a tumblr and some say instagram so that I can share pics of me, hauls and other fun things that I do with you all. So, please take the poll on the right and let me know which one you would feel more comfortable looking at.

Makeup Essentials College Students Should Have Everyday On The Go!

Hey loves!

As you all know I am currently in my sophomore year of college! So, having many things on the go is very important because I have to do a lot of walking and it is getting extremely hot where I live, so I have made a post to help out other college students (or anyone else who is on the go a lot) with figuring out what to have in their to go makeup bag for the spring.

1. Nail Polish. I definitely learned my lesson about not having any nail polish with me on the go during the spring and summer, during my freshman year of school. So, I was walking around campus looking cute with my friends and my flip flops on. Out of no where, I tripped on a crap in the ground, I did not fall or hurt myself, but my nail polish was very chipped and it was very noticeable lol. So, since it is hot again, that is the first thing I have put in my makeup bag. The nail polish brands that I like to use are Ulta, OPI and SinfulColors.

2. Lip Balm. Just as it is important not to have chapped lips in the fall and winter, it is equally important not to have them in the fall and spring. It's one thing for me to see someone with chapped lips in the winter, but if I see it in the spring it's just like WHYYYYY! Lol. There is one girl who works with me and every time we work together she always complains that her lips are hurting and chapped. I always ask her why don't you carry chapstick or lip balm with you and she just says "I don't know". My lips are rarely chapped, but I would rather have lip balm to moisturize them, than to walk around with my lips hurting.

3. Matte Powder. The reason I put the NYX powder in the picture is because I recently purchased this stuff. Let me tell you guys, this powder really works! I get oily and sweaty in 80 degree weather like we have been having, but I did not get oily or sweaty in the 11 hours that I had it on for! I put this on at 7 am and took it off at 8 pm. I used it with the NYX HD Photogenic Liquid Foundation. I have a detailed review on it. It stayed fresh the entire time and I didn't have to reapply it a single time. I put it in my bag just in case I will one day. So you should definitely check that out!

4. Oil-Absorbing Sheets. These are very important for everyone who has oily skin! I can't stress this enough. Depending on where you go, you can get them for really cheep. I normally get them from walmart for $3, but I have friends who say that they have found some for $1, so it all depends on where you shop. My nose is the oiliest part of my face so I am blotting even when I am not getting to oily just to shop it. I blot whether I have on face makeup or not. It's just really important.

5. Pocket Tissue. This is really important for everyone who has allergies. I personally have allergies year round, but they are much worse in the spring. If I don't take my medicine, my face gets really swollen and puffy and it does not look good, so I really have to be careful. But, the tissues are for runny eyes, sneezing, and can be to fix imperfections that happen with your makeup throughout the day.

6. Lip Gloss. I don't think that I really have to describe this one but every girl knows that we need our gloss. I am really feeling the Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume for the Spring. It retails for $19. It reminds me of the summer time when I go to Cold Stone, Ben & Jerry's, or Carvel because it smells like an ice cream shop. I love the smell.

7. Mascara. This is needed just in case you cry or your eyes get really watery. It's also just in case you forget to put it on in the morning. You guys already know why I love the Benefit They're Real. For the link to that post click here. I also found a dupe for it and am doing a giveaway for the dupe, so click here for that.

8. Eyeliner. I have a very bad habit of rubbing my eyes, especially in the spring with them being itchy, so this is a must for touch ups. Right now, I am loving all of the eyeliners from smashbox and L'Oreal. I generally do not have a preference for eyeliner...yet :)

9. Body Lotion. I don't know about all of you but, in the summer, I only wear shorts, dresses, skirts, etc. My legs are going to be out 90% of the time. So, lotion is important. As I told all of you in my morning routine post, I am running late almost every morning. So, I tend to forget a lot of stuff. Putting on lotion is one of them. Having a body lotion is handy because once I make it to class, work, church, wherever I am going, I will just throw it on really fast.

So, I hope that you ladies enjoy this post and leave a comment below telling me what are somethings that you need to have in your "To Go Makeup Bag" everyday or you can just tell me a product that you must have with you and why. I would love to hear it all. Well, I hope that you all will spread this post around to your friends and family members. Talk to you soon (tomorrow)!

Thanks loves,
Britt

I Am Really Feeling NYX Cosmetics For April!

Hi Loves! I wanted to share with you all as to how much I am loving NYX for this month. I will have a haul up on the blog Friday because I am going back to buy even more. I have been wearing NYX cosmetics for a while but it was never my go to brand. So, yesterday I went to Ulta and I was a little sad because one of my friends is no longer working there. But, I still had love from everyone else :). But, another one of the girls who works there and I have grown to love recommended like all of the NYX products to me. I never thought that I would buy a foundation from NYX, but I did and OMG I really like it. I am not going to say how much I spent in Ulta yesterday on NYX and other brands, but I will be going back to Ulta to spend even more money lol. I can't wait to show you guys which products I have purchased. But, I am sitting in the building before my class starts and I just wanted to share that with you all. So look forward to see it on Friday. And hey, I may start a new giveaway the same day I end a different one. I am in such a giving mood.

Thanks loves,
Britt

Review Time!

Hello Kitty Wild Thing Palette

Hello Kitty - Wild Thing Makeup Palette

Hey loves!

As I promised you guys in my March Favorites post, I am bringing a review of the hello kitty wild thing palette with swatches. This is my current favorite makeup palette because you can create anything from a very natural daytime eye to a smokin' night time smokey eye! The colors are swatched below.

The colors are not named or numbered, so I just went from left to right and down the rows. My favorite colors to use in the pallete (my normal everyday look) is the second color all over the lid, the last color in the crease and fifth color in my browbone. As you can tell, these colors are extremely pigmented. Some of the colors actually appear to be a bit lighter due to my lighting. These colors are very easy to apply. Some of the eyeshadow palettes that I have, the colors can tend to be a bit tough to grab. However, this one is very smoothe. The palette itself comes with 12 shadows, a compact mirror, an eyeliner, and it all comes in a collectible tin (which you can store things once you use everything up). As you all should know from yesterday, my boyfriend had bought me this. I had been wanting this palette for months and I didn't want to buy it because I just did not think it would be very pigmented at all. Honestly, the main reason I wanted it is because I love Hello Kitty lol. But, I am very happy and thankful that he had got it for me...I love him so much. But, what I love the most about it is that you can create any type of look and you will be amaxed at the outcome. Some mornings, I just mix colors together and I'm just like OMG I can't believe it actually looks good. I literally have never blended and mixed the colors in this palette and said "Oh, that doesn't look right". I have done that with every other palette that I have. It's just a really fun palette and it is good for all seasons. You can order it online for $34 because most Sephora stores are sold out because it was limited edition. But, this is one thing that I must say every girl needs in her collection. Whether you are a beginner or a pro. It is definitely amazing and I love it!

Well, I definitely hope that you ladies enjoy this review and go and order this palette as soon as you can before it's all sold out!

Thanks loves,
Britt

March 2013 Favorites!!!!

Hi Loves,

In March, I had a lot of favorites to haul! Like too many! Therefore, this post is going to be really long. So, bare with me! :)

1. Sephora Collection Advanced Airbrush Set
SEPHORA COLLECTION - Advanced Airbrush Set

These brushes were a gift from my boyfriend for my birthday last month. These brushes are amazing! Like, I am so happy that he got them for me. They really give me a flawless, airbrush look! They work with any foundation, concealer, etc. This set comes with a powder brush, foundation brush, concealer brush, crease brush and eye brush. This set retails at Sephora for $65. It is on the pricey side, but it is definitely worth the price. I love, love, love this brush set.

2. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24-Hour Foundation
LancĂ´me - Teint Idole Ultra 24H
In this foundation, I am the shade 430 Bisque C. This foundation shade is literally the most perfect foundation shade that I have ever tried. One of the many things that I love about it is that it is non-transferable, meaning that it does not rub off. Also, it does not oxidize as fast as many other foundations do. It does not start to oxidize until about 8 hours of wear. Even when it oxidizes, it still does not turn overly dark as many foundations do. This foundation retails for $45.

3. CoverGirl Queen Lasting Matte Pressed Powder
COVERGIRL Queen Lasting Matte Pressed Powder - Golden Medium 415
In this powder, I am the shade golden. The golden shade is a perfect shade for me. I like to wear this powder on top of my liquid foundations to set my makeup. This powder is very inexpensive. It retails from $5-8.

4. Hello Kitty Wild Thing Makeup Pallete
Hello Kitty - Wild Thing Makeup Palette
This pallete was also one of the many birthday gifts I had got from my boyfriend. I wanted this pallete for a really long time and he knew that and got it. I really love this pallete. I use at least one color out of this pallette during the week. **I will be posting swatches of this tomorrow in a post with a full review**. This pallete retails for $34, originally $49 and it is a $200 value. The pigmentation is really good as well. It comes with 12 eyeshadows, an eyeliner, and a compact mirror, all in a collectible tin case. I am not sure if sephora still sells it or not because it was limited edition. But, if they do, you should definitely get it as soon as you can. The colors are also good for creating a spring time look.

5. Benefit They're Real Mascara
Benefit Cosmetics - They're Real! Mascara
You guys have already saw my review and raves about this product.
See this link: http://makeupandbeautyqueen.blogspot.com/2013/03/product-comparisonreviews.html

6. Smashbox Full Exposure
Smashbox - Full Exposure Mascara
You all have saw my rave on this one as well.
See this link: http://makeupandbeautyqueen.blogspot.com/2013/03/product-comparisonreviews.html

7. L'Oreal Go 360 Clean

I have switched facial cleansers, as you all should know from previous posts that I used to use the Clean and Clear Essentials Daily Facial Cleanser. Well, now I love the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean. I love it because it smells really good. It also comes with a sponge for you to exfoliate with. The sponge pops in and out of the bottle which is very convenient. This is really good for removing makeup. I love it.

8. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
Smashbox - Photo Finish Foundation Primer
Before, I was using the Black Radiance Shine Control Primer, until I fell in love with this one. With this primer, a little goes a very long way. The tube is $36, but it could literally last you like 8 months or more if you use it properly because you really do not need much at all!

9. Maybelline ShineSensational in Cocoa Fever

I have been on a hunt to find a gloss that would go on my lips like a nude and natural color while matching my skin tone and this was the perfect one for the job. With a lot of my glosses, I have to mix colors with clear gloss to make them work for my skin. But, with this one, all I have to do is apply the gloss. It is a very pretty color. It also smells really good (like cocoa) and it tastes sweet. Love it!

10. Wet 'n Wild Mocha-Licious

This lipstick is very good for the price. I have many lipsticks from wet 'n wild because they are actually decent quality for their price. I had gotten this from Walgreens for $2.99. It is very good. When I bought this one, I bought another one of their lipsticks called "make me blush". However, I have only used that one once and it is just as good, but I have not used it enough to add it to my march favorites.

11. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
Dream Fresh BB
I am in the shade medium/deep. As you all know, this was not my favorite product in the world when I first got it. But, this month, I decided to try it out for an entire week and i loved it. The way that I had used it was I applied it with a foundation brush and the lightly brushed my CoverGirl powder over it for a little bit of coverage. I actually like it for my lighter days when I do not to wear heavy makeup. I see this as being my go to product for the summer because foundation can be a bit of a drag to wear when there are temperatures in the high 80s and the sun blazing.

That will conclude my March Favorites post! I would love to hear what all of your march favorites were. If you are a fellow blogger, leave the link to your favorites down below. If you are not a blogger or are not doing a favorites post, just leave a comment below telling me what were some of your favorites for the month. I hope that you all enjoy these products and will go and purchase some of them and tell me what you think! Don't forget to +1, subscribe and enter my new giveaway that is going on. Details for that is in yesterday's post! Talk to you guys soon!

Thanks loves,
Britt

Dupe Alert!!! +Giveaway

Hey loves!!!

Thanks to one of my lovely friends on campus, I have found out that Wet n' Wild's MegaLength is a dupe for the Benefit They're Real Mascara. Me and her are big fans of the Benefit They're Real Mascara! Ok, I am going to be honest...I was very afraid to try a mascara from Wet 'n Wild because I heard a horrible story about them one time I was reading reviews about their MegaProtien Mascara on MakeupAlley. The person had wrote that it made their naturally curly lashes turn straight and it was a horrid experience for them, so I told myself that I would never purchase any mascaras from them...but that has changed. I have learned that I cannot rely fully on reviews from other people because every person is different, genetically and personally. Some products that most people hate, I love them and some products that most people love, I absolutely hate. Ok, back to the comparisons lol. She had told me that they were very similar, so I decided to take a chance and give it a try. I really like this mascara. It is literally just as good as the Benefit. I mean, for the Wet 'n Wild to only be $2.99 and the Benefit is $23, you just can't beat that. What I like about the Wet 'n Wild is that it doesn't clump and it goes on very easily. It also dries fast because it is not overly wet. If you are a beginner at makeup, I would definitely suggest you buying this one. Also, if you do not want to spend $23 on a mascara I would recommend this. As a matter of fact, I am feeling very generous, so I will be giving away one of the Wet 'n Wild mascaras for someone to try. The rules for this is very simple and they are:

1. Must be a subscriber
2. Must leave a comment below (on the blog, not google plus) telling your favorite mascara

Only 2 Simple rules :) What better way to kick off the month than with a lovely giveaway!

Giveaway Ends: April 11, 2013

As always, I hope that you lovely ladies enjoyed this post and don't forget to give me a +1 and subscribe.

Also, don't forget that +Crystal A has a giveaway going on that ends this Thursday, April 4, 2013. So make sure you enter hers at this link http://beginnerglambycrys.blogspot.com/2013/02/giveaway.html .

Have a wonderful rest of your day loves!
