What is my Morning Routine?

Hi loves, I know that it has been a while since I have done an update post on the blog! I have been really busy with school and studying. I have an exam later today, but I am taking a study break to update the blog. I decided to do a "My Morning Routine" post because last week I was going through my blogs that I follow and I read a post from +Jai Correa and she said that she would love to hear other bloggers do their morning routine posts...so here I am!

Most mornings, I am very tired. I can get the most sleep and I will still be tired for like the first 45 minutes to an hour that I am up. The first thing that I do when I get up is brush my teeth (VERY IMPORTANT). I love to have a clean white smile. Then I wash my face using the L'Oreal Clean 360 Daily Facial Exfoliating Cleanser. Once I cleanse my face, I then wash it with an Ambi Complexion bar for my skin. Once, I complete that I hop into the shower...I use either Dove or Caress Soap along with whichever shower gel/body wash I am in the mood to use that day (I have a lot). When I get out of the shower, I wash my face again with the Ambi Complexion soap bar. I then Moisturize my face with Aveeno Moisturizer and my body with whatever body moisturizer I am wanting to use that day (B&BW, Cetaphil, Aveeno, St. Ives, etc.). Once I complete all of that, I prime my face for my makeup. Then, I do my beautiful makeup. I will do my makeup process routine tomorrow because it will make this post super long. But, I go in the kitchen and make me some breakfast. Once I finsih my breakfast, I put my clothes on and then I am out for the day!

Hope you ladies enjoyed this and I would love for you all to leave follow on posts about it or leave a comment below and tell me your process.

Thanks loves,
Britt

Product Comparison/Reviews!

Hey loves!

Today I am doing a review on two mascaras that I really love: Benefit's They're Real and Smashbox Full Exposure! I love them both. These are two of the best mascaras that I have every tried, hands down. They both retail for $19-23 in the US. They give a very good coverage and really fill out your lashes. Personally, I do not wear falsies and these really give me that same allusion that falsies do. The "They're Real Mascara" really gives you that false yet natural look. I love the full exposure because it thickens out my lashes (I like that) to make them look full. The Smashbox Full Exposure is very comparable to Maybelline's Great Last Mascara. The brushes on them are very similar. The difference is that Smashbox's is just formulated a little better and feels better on the eye. Which is understandable because it is like 3x the price of Great Lash. As far as a dupe for the They're Real, I have heard that the Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara is a very good one. Personally, I have not tried that one yet. Now for the Pros and Cons:

They're Real:

Pros:

Good Coverage
Buildable
Lengthens
Great Brush
Separates and adds Precision
Goes on Smoothly
Volumizes

Cons:

Their have been complaints of hurting eyelashes (doesn't happen to me)

Full Exposure:

Pros:

Volumizes
Goes on smooth
Lengthens
Separates Lashes
Makes lashes more full

Cons:

Can be diffifult to remove (depending on amount of coats)
Can take a while to dry

Overall, I believe that these are really good products. The cons that they have can be fixed, well I don't know what the They're Real eyelash complainers can d o except not use it lol. But, for the Full Exposure, the cons are not overly annoying, I've only noticed them happening like twice and like I said with the They're Real eyelashes hurting, I've never noticed it hurting. However, it does feel weird when you put it on, so maybe the "weird feeling" is mistaken for pain. If I would have to pick one of these two two be my favorite, it would definitely have to be the They're Real, because I just really like it. If you read any of my posts, you will know that :). But, I use both of them equally.

I hope that this review helped someone, because that is my main goal and priority for my blog. If you like this post, don't be shy to hit that +1 button.

Thanks loves,
Britt

@Ulta (like always)

Stila All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm

On Sale for $20 regular $38

I was very surprised to find this today because I had no idea that any company had come out with an HD BB cream yet. As you guys know from my post before with BB creams, I am not a fan. However, I have put my self on a BB cream, no foundation week. I started Tuesday and so far my BB creams have grown on me. I will definitely be getting this one to try out, just because I like HD makeup, I really want to try this out.

But, make sure you get it today because it goes back to full price tomorrow. You can't beat today's deal because its a little over 47% off (I'm pretty good with math lol). Also, if you get it or already have it, leave a comment and let me know how you like it!

**Side note: It says it is supposed to be for all skin tones, so I hope that it will not make me look ashy on my medium-brown skin. Something to consider for browner skin tones.**

Britt

L'Oreal Linear Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner

This is a really good product. I was a little nervous about trying it because I "used" to suck at liquid eyeliner, until I purchased this one. This one is in Earthen Rock Brown 630. I really like it because I always wear a black eyeliner, but this one is good for when I am just chilling and want to tone it down a little bit. It's not as harsh. This product is definitely worth buying, because I would have never guessed that it would be as good as it was. I have always used gel liners and pencils but this will definitely make me add liquid to my list. I will definitely be purchasing this in the Black Mica 610. If you have not tried this product, I would definitely suggest you doing it, because it is worth every penny. I think you can find it places from $7-10, which is not bad at all. I hope that you guys really enjoyed this review. Remember if you have any questions or comments to leave them below and I will reply back, like I always do :). Also, don't forget to click the +1 button. I will be doing a giveaway which will feature this product. I will post all of the information for it on March 17, 2013, so be on the lookout for that!

Britt

Fashion Haul!!!

Hi loves,

I haven't done a fashion haul in a long time, since like January when I started my blog, so I decided to share with you all some items that I have gotten from Forever21 recently!

This button down shirt was $15.80, I wanted a new button shirt although I have a ton already. I like to dress kind of casual. I bought it in a salmon pink color.

I fell in love with shirt, I just really like the style of it! It was only $10.50 and I bought it in this same color.

I got this shirt as well, but I got it in a peachy coral color. I love it! It was only $14.80.

I love this one, it was a birthday gift from my boyfriend. :) I think you can get this style for $19.80-$22.80.

I got a normal pair of black leggings. These are always $5.80 or 2 for $10.

I also got another shirt, but its in the laundry, so I will feature it in my next fashion haul. My next fashion haul should be up by Monday. I usually go shopping every other Saturday for clothes. So definitely stay up to date so that you won't miss out on that! I hope you ladies enjoyed this and +1 this for more fashion hauls.

Britt

What's Your Undertone?

Hi lovelies,

Ok, I am doing this post because I struggled so hard with this. When I first learned about undertones, I would buy cool undertones because I have a lot of yellow in my skin and I figured yellow would go with cool and redness would go with warm. But, I learned it is the opposite, weirdly. I actually have neutral.

What are the three types of undertones?

  • Cool
  • Neutral
  • Warm
Do I have a Cool Undertone?

  • My veins appear blue
  • I look better in black and white
  • I look better in silver and blue
  • My skin has reddish and blue undertones
  • My eyes are light blue, grey, dark brown or black
Do I have a Warm Undertone?

  • My veins appear green
  • I look better in brown and off white
  • I look better in gold and orange
  • My skin has peach or golden undertones
  • My eyes are hazel, amber, golden brown, or green
Do I have a Neutral Undertone?
  • I have a mixture of the qualities of both undertone types
There are advantages to having a neutral skin tone, because you can get away with wearing any foundation. However, your skin does tend to favor more toward one of the undertones. My skin tends to favor the cool undertone. I have all of the qualities of a cool undertone, except I have yellowish tones and my veins are green. I guess I also favor it because I do have a small amount of red in my face.

I hope that this helps you ladies out and that you will take this information and find a perfect foundation shade.

Thanks loves,
Britt

Confessions of a Blogger Tag!

So, as you guys may know, I have been slacking a lot with my blogging. I have had so much going on that you would not understand. I have a lot of things coming. So, as I am getting back on track, I was going through my fellow bloggers blogs to see what posts I have missed in the past couple of days and I saw that +Crystal A tagged me in a "Confessions of a blogger tag"! I am really excited to do this, because I love when I can give you guys a chance to know me better. So, here we go:

When did you start blogging?

I posted my first entry on January 13, 2013.

Have you had any online presence before (other blog, youtube)?

No, I have not. However, I do plan to start a youtube channel in the near future (in the works right now).

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I love makeup so much and I just wanted to share with people how much I love it. Also, I know how I have a lot of products that I hate and wish that someone could have told me about it before I bought it and that is the image that I am trying to portray for my blog. I just really want to help people out with things.

What was your first post?

My first post was an introduction about me.

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?

My biggest challenge has been making sure that I post things that will interest you guys. But, I love taking risks anyway :)

Where do you see your blog in one year?

I see it going well. However, I will be doing posts on it probably once a week because I will proably be converted to youtube by then. I will probably being doing it as an "Ask Britt" type thing.

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?

The most rewarding thing to me about blogging is being able to help someone, like I mentioned earlier. Just being able to inspire someone. Basically, someone being able to do something or think something positive about my blog.

What is the most discouraging thing to you?

Nothing.

What is your lasting inspiration or motivation?

Being able to be here for you all whenever you need me.

:) I hope you all enjoyed this. If you did, don't be shy to +1 it <3

Who's next:

1. +Selene Galindo
2. +Janice Mbazima
3. +Faith Miller
4. +Andrea G.
5. +Julie Lindgren

Thanks Loves,
Britt

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up

Price: $30.00
Location: Ulta, Sephora and Benefit

I really like this highlight. However, it is a bit too metallic. It says that you can use it to highlight cheek bones. But, since I am African American and have a golden skin tone, I only use it to highlight my brow bone. It is a champagne color (very pretty). If you are lighter skinned, then you can probably get more use out of it than me, as far as highlighting cheek bones and bridge of nose is concerned. I would definitely recommend this product to all skin types and everyone. I rarely use a light shadow anymore to highlight my brow bones because I light the way this looks better. It is very easy to apply. I use a blending brush to blend it out. I definitely recommend this product to anyone and I hope that you guys found this review helpful if you were considering purchasing it.

Britt

Benefit They're Real Mascara

"Speechless the first time I used it!"

So, as all of you ladies know, I used to be obsessed with the CoverGirl Professional Mascara. Not anymore! My birthday was last Tuesday and Sephora gave me a sample of this for my birthday. I was speechless the first time I used it! I completely fell in love. Honestly, I will probably never go back and buy a different mascara from this. I now swear by this. It is very true to its name. It will really make people question whether your lashes are real or not. The first time i used it, the way the brush felt against my lashes scared me a bit because it felt kind of weird lol. But, it gave it beautiful look and I was just mesmerized by it. It is definitely worth the price. It is $18 and I bought two of them, so yeah, it is that good. I definitely recommend this to anyone. Especially those who do not where falsies like me.I definitely think all of you ladies should go and buy it! If you like or dislike this mascara, leave your comments below and let me know how you like it!

Don't forget to subscribe and give me a google plus!

Thanks love, Britt

I'm Back...With February Faves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey loves,

I know I didn't do a good job of posting lot last week, but I am definitely back on it! I am giving you a post of some of my favorite things I loved for February!

1. NYX Smokey Pallete

I love this palette because I love doing a smokey eye and it is very pigmented.

2. NYX Natural Pallete

This palette is really good for during the day, for work, school, just hanging out with friends...anything.

3. Milani Glitzy Glamour Goss in Charmer

This gloos is very pretty, but it is dark. To take away some of the dark tint that it puts to my lips, I put a clear gloss on top of it and it looks really pretty when I do that.

4. Paris Presents HD Foundation Brush

This foundation brush is very flawless. I bought this foundation brush like 2 years ago and I never used it. I used it for the first time this month and I love it. It is a really good foundation brush and gives very good coverage.

5. Benefit's They're Real Mascara

You guys know how much I was set on my CoverGirl Professional Mascara...but not anymore! This mascara is like the best. I have never tried a mascara with a brush like this...from high end to drugstore. I have never found one. I loooooove this one. This probably had to be my most favorite product for the month of February, buying this for $18 for Ulta was one of my best investments ever.

6. Smashbox Foundation Primer

I had bought this primer because my BlackRadiance Shine Control Primer began to make my skin oxidize worse than it should. I don't know if they changed the formula or what. But, i love this photo finish primer. My makeup does not oxidize as fast and it is really good. I love it!

I hope that you guys really enjoyed my product faves. Remember if you want a more in depth review, just leave a comment below and I definitely will :) Also, remember to +1 and subscribe to my page. And share your February Faves with me!
